ABOUT US

MISSION
AFLS Department is committed to scholastic, professional, and behavioral excellence. We understand the essential importance of our role in preparing local, national and international leaders for the increasingly interconnected world of the twenty-first century and beyond.
We are also committed to evidence-based scholarship that retrieves and presents evidence of African contributions to humanity and world civilization. AFLS joins others of its kind internationally in returning Africa and its peoples back to the center of all intellectual, scientific, and academic discourse.
Our third commitment is to respectful understanding of the cultural, religious, and philosophical traditions of indigenous Liberians. A strong relationship exists between AFLS and the Traditional Culture Council of Liberia on both national and local levels.
Finally, we are committed to gender issues.  AFLS presents evidence of the magnificent roles that African women have played in contributing to all humanity and to the development of world civilization.
