Foundation Course in
Microfinance This course will be run as a graduate level certificate course, through the Cuttington University Graduate School. The course presents a comprehensive introduction to sustainable microfinance, affording participants the opportunity to gain thorough grounding in the basic principles and practices.
Course Design: The course is based on
the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) designed Microfinance
Distance Learning course. It is structured into 11 lessons contained in
the training manual and CD ñROM computer based instruction (CBI) and will be
accompanied by online interaction with a group of expert tutors. A
discussion forum will be established for participant interaction.

Tuition fees: US$300 (Three
Hundred US Dollars)

students as well as individuals who have a general interest in microfinance.

From : Cuttington University Date : May 15, 2008 The Administration of Cuttington University wishes to invite applications from qualified and interested candidates for the following positions to be based on the Suakoko main campus: 1. CASHIER JOB DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will be responsible to: Maintain an adequate cash journal, process studentsí tuition deposits; Process accurately and efficiently cash operations including petty cash; and Prepare a weekly and monthly cash receipts and disbursements reports QUALIFICATION: The applicant must be a college graduate with a BSc. In Accounting or a BBA and must have a minimum working experience of three years with a reputable institution of education. 2. RESIDENT ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will be responsible for the following: Monitoring progress of all overall as related to scheduled and costs, control budgets. Coordinating and scheduling construction/renovation and machinery maintenance Maintenance of water facilities and water treatment Be able to prepare and update project logs for submittals, monitor project budget and costs to prevent funding shortfalls due to misuse of materials. Plan and develop projects and make appropriate recommendations for implementation for the sustainability of Electricity Generation and supply. Attend monthly administrative meetings to provide status of current project activities salary and other benefits are attractive Develop a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPís) to guide technical personnel in equipment operations. Finally, he should be capable of preparing and updating project/repairs schedules weekly and monthly progress reports, and schedule management reports. QUALIFICATION: Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management or equivalent; Must have experience in the maintenance of machinery and water facilities; and Must have strong human relations skills and abilities to work in a multicultural environment. 3. AUTO-MECHANIC JOB DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will have the following responsibilities: Conduct routine operational and preventive maintenance checks related to maintenance and repairs of automobile and grounds equipment and facilities to include inspecting, testing, cleaning, lubricating and as necessary or replacing defective parts of trucks, tractors, automobile and lawn care equipment. Inspect and repair automobile equipment, trucks, tractors and lawn mower equipment. Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment supplies and materials. Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. QUALIFICATION: The applicant should be a high school graduate with vocational training in auto mechanic. Must have knowledge in automobile and small engine repair and maintenance acquired through three (3) years of related experience.
